Parking Notice:
  • We have been contacted by the Roaring Spring Borough regarding parking at the field. Illegally parked vehicles may hinder emergency personnel and may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense. Please consider the parking guidelines below; however you must use your own judgement when parking.
    • Consider carpooling to the game.
    • Parking is available on many of the near-by streets, Grove, Locust, Sugar, Albright, Park Ave, Oakmont Place. Parking is also available at the YMCA and Spring Dam. Please be sure to follow standard parking rules.
    • Please do not park at the street intersections, especially where the curbs are painted yellow. Parking at these corners limits visibility and the ability for cars to navigate the turns. This has been especially bad at the intersection of Grove and Locust.
    • Please do not block driveways and leave enough space for the property owners to enter and exit their driveways.
    • Please do not park on the field/park side of Grove Street (the street going up the hill towards Locust Street).
    • Please do not block or park in the dirt road that leads up to the concession stand. Coaches generally use the road for parking and we need to make sure the entrance and exit is clear.
    • As a reminder, Locust Street between Grove Street and Albright Street is one-way from Grove to Locust during games.
Good Neighbors:
  • In addition to trying to make the best of the parking situation and following the guidelines above, we need to do a better job of using the trash cans that are placed generously through-out the park.
  • Recently there has been a lot of litter left after the games. This ends up blowing into the yards of our neighbors and that is not fair to them.
  • Please use the provided trash cans and if you notice some trash lying around, please take a moment to gather it and throw it away.
  • If we work together, we can keep the peace with our neighbors and have a beautiful park and field for our teams to play at and that represents us when others come to our field.
  • If you see a trash can is full, please feel free to empty it for us. You can get a replacement bag from the concession stand and the dumpster is located to the right of the stand. This is also a great way to help your coach at the end of the night. If the parents pitch in and check/empty full trash cans, it will reduce the amount of time the coaches need to spend at the field to be done for the night.
Hitting Derby:
  • June 8th. Details TBD!
Concerning Composite Barrel Bats:
  • For the purpose of player safety, SCYBL Leadership has decided that the league will follow the allowed bats from the offical Little League. Other local leagues planning on doing the same. If you are considering a bat for Christmas, please check the Little League website - Approved Composite Bats - (2 1/4 inch barrels) - for approved bats. This new rule is in effect for Major, Minor, and PeeWee. The Little League ban on bats is specific to composite barrel bats. If you have a metal bat, this does not apply. On April 1, 2012, the list as of that date will be downloaded and stand as the final list.
Reminders:
  • Please keep kids off the home side embankment. There have been some prints left in the mulch. No one is allowed on the embankment.
  • Please remind our players not to dig into the grass on the field. Often players will absent-mindedly dig at the grass while playing in the field. This damages the grass. A gentle reminder before or during the games may help.
Thank Yous:
  • Fredericks Meat Market, Backyard Burgers, and Spring House Grille for sponsoring several special promotions awarding free food to our players for certain accomplishments on the field!
  • Blair County Parks and Recreation for a grant to add an additional section of bleachers, updates to the bathrooms, and a pavilion for the picnic tables.
  • Sheetz for the donation of garbage cans.
  • Tame Your Mane for the donation of a flagpole light.
  • Burgmeier Hauling for garbage pickup.
